LURLENE NESTOR’s job as a PNCR propagandist is highlighted by her almost thrice weekly diatribe appearing in the local letter pages. In an effort to do her ‘master’s’ bidding, Lurlene would like all right-thinking Guyanese to fall prey to her misinformation, but she can rest assured that this won’t be the case. Guyanese old enough, in and out of Guyana, have not forgotten those 28 years of PNC misrule as well as the indignity they suffered at the hands of that institution to which Nestor proudly attaches ‘holy’ status. Neither have they forgotten the role of Nestor’s party whilst in opposition in supporting criminals. So when Nestor writes “I believe it was this same kind of thinking that led their teaming up with, the now convicted, drug lord Roger Khan,” as she did in her Kaieteur News letter published on Sunday May 8th, she should also in a similar manner expound on the kind of thinking that led to the Burnham government’s collusion with Rabbi Washington, House of Israel and Tarzan, Stage Coach, Dr Pants and other members of a notorious gang which operated out of a certain South Georgetown ward. She should also explain then PNC leader Desmond Hoyte’s, appearance at the funeral of dead criminal, Linden ‘Blackie’ London, and his description of London as a national hero.
And while Nestor speaks about her perceptions of the disadvantageous leadership style of the PPP’s presidential candidate, Mr. Donald Ramotar, we should be far more worried about the leadership the PNCR’s presidential candidate David Granger brings to the table, given that as an army officer for decades he was trained ‘to serve’ and is no doubt ‘serving’ the current leader of the PNCR. Couple this with the fact that Granger’s ‘squaddie’, Malcom Harripaul, in a letter to Stabroek News, (October 2, 2010) wrote, “I remember well I once went to him (David Granger) with a problem. The credit union had for the second time turned down my application for a loan on the grounds that I did not have sufficient service, although they had twice given loans to another officer who had less service than me. I explained my case to Brig Granger and he was visibly upset. He called the officer on the phone and calmly said, “I have young Harripaul in my office. Could you please bring me his cheque for the loan he applied for? In less than five minutes the cheque was brought” and let’s ask ourselves whose leadership style should be a cause for concern.
What about David Granger’s leadership style, Lurlene?
