GCA/Noble House Seafoods second div. final.

GCC large and in charge over GDF
GEORGETOWN Cricket Club (GCC) were large and in charge against the Guyana Defence Force at the end of the first day of their two-day Georgetown Cricket Association-organised, Noble House Seafoods-sponsored second division final at the Demerara Cricket Club ground yesterday.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first on a track that was low and offering support to the spinners, GCC scored 184 from 56.2 overs, with Gavin Singh 47 (8×4, 1×6) and Alman Doman 43* (4×4, 2×6) being the principal scorers.
Clevon Hyman 27 (5×4) and Winston Forrester 20 (3×4) offered support to Gavin Singh and Doman who added 51 for the fourth wicket, after GCC were 39-3, losing Forrester, Alex Ramalho (4) and Ellon Fernandes (0).
Randy Lindore led GDF’s bowling, taking 4-22 with his off-spin while fast bowler Miguel Cort snared 2-25 for GDF, who were shakily placed on 98-7 off 31 overs at the close, despite Mark Rhobe’s undefeated 27 (5×4), along with Marcus Watkins and Lindore’s supportive innings of 22 and 20 respectively.
Raphael Singh has so far taken 2-0, with his two wickets coming in the penultimate over, courtesy of two magnificent catches taken at short midwicket by Ramalho to remove Paul Castello (9) and Terrence Madramootoo (0) in the space of three deliveries.
Gavin Singh and Trevon France also took two wickets each for 14 and 17 runs respectively and when play resumes at 11:30hrs today, GDF will be looking to score the remaining 87 runs to take first innings points while GCC will be looking to mop up the tail as quickly as possible.
