IF ever there was anyone who is a ‘joker’ it has to be scholar-manqué and pseudo analyst, Freddie Kissoon. His arrogating so much authority and acumen to himself is shocking. He has to be the epitome and reincarnation of Narcissus himself. In fact (look at this), the man actually takes himself seriously. First, Freddie Kissoon has to acknowledge his congenital condition of levity and jocularity.
He ‘rants and raves’ and actually thinks he has a serious audience. His offerings, and that is semantically elevating, are tantamount to a ‘comic strip’ piece.
Just notice how Freddie Kissoon makes himself to be the ultimate critic, analyst, historian, linguist, ad infinitum. He has long been a victim of numerous forms of psychosis, and now he has added a new one. Freddie Kissoon is starting to believe himself. He seems to be taking himself seriously.
First, Freddie had the gumption to seek to inform the Norwegian Minister, Eric Solheim about (Freddie Kissoon’s perception of course), and Guyana’s political milieu. Freddie had written many times before, offering his prediction about how Norway would slight Guyana.
He was so dogmatic and yet it resulted in non-effectiveness. One wonders now how he feels. So one can ask why is it he is seeking to inform and enlighten the Americans.
Well, one can only suggest that even mad men have to say something.
Freddie keeps harping about things he knows, people he spoke with and secret knowledge he possesses. So just like his demand that the PPP be honest and transparent, he should do the same.
What he achieves by this clandestine form of writing is that he engenders laughter. That explains why he can say that Berbicians should be ‘enlightened’ yet he cannot and dare not go to bring out any redressing on the Babu John aspersions he sought to cast at Mr. Jagdeo’s feet.
His use of a ‘certain’ person, at a ‘certain’ time in a ‘certain’ place is nauseous. One hopes he quit this form of spurious presentations.
Recently, I sought desperately for Freddie Kissoon’s list of publications and could find none. Imagine I found so much on and by ‘stupid’ V.S Naipaul and nothing by or on Freddie! What a shame! This ‘intellectual giant’ and ‘academic par excellence’ is really robbing the world of academia.
He should publish. But no,…what he does is ‘cuss out’ which is what he accuses others of. It is time he really gets a healing.
Just recently, right after his ignominy was highlighted with the Norwegian promise and commitment being effected, Freddie turned to the Americans and their visa situation. One gets the impression that these Americans and Canadians too, are having consultations with him, and not with the Guyana government.
So when Freddie refers to what was and is being said to him, and when he sites what is aired on and published in the gossip centres, and he invokes the Benschops of Guyana, he achieves nothing.
How come the cases he refers to have not been able to generate any kind of attention? How come there has been no investigation. Freddie writes profusely his diatribes, and the fact that he is able to go on unimpeded is a testimony to whatever he is saying he is canvassing for or against. Here are a few examples.
Freddie is seeking to champion the transparency in Guyana, yet he is characterised by ‘conjuring up’, ‘sensationalism’, ‘figmentation’ and ‘oneiric fabrications.’ He needs to get real.
He also accuses his opponents of a lot of ‘name-calling.’ Yet what he does is to refer to others, especially those of the ruling party as ‘King Kong’, ‘goatish’, ‘stupid’, etc. He is enraged when his innocuous invectives rebound in creating a risible environment. But he has only himself to blame. He can do with a few suggestions.
First, investigate in a candid manner and do not set out to seek out minutiae. One usually is able to manufacture what he seeks to ferret out. Secondly, Freddie Kissoon must be true to himself. He claims that it was better under the aegis of the PNC regime. He needs to realize that he is still alive simply because he was not a victim of the ‘kick- down- the- door’ movement.
Also, he must remember that because of his selective and cowardly involvement (unlike the Rodneys and Roopnarines), he is now with a noisy and obnoxious voice. If he was the ‘termagant’ he now is, Burnham would have swatted him. So, Freddie remains irrelevant, irritable and innocuous.
