The Preliminary Inquiry into the terrorist charges against Collin Jones, alias ‘Bunny’, Randy Mars, and Jafar Simpson, was yesterday postponed to April 28 by Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. Police Sergeant Stephen Telford, prosecuting, called Sergeant Caesar, a witness in the matter, who was again absent in court. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Caesar.
Jones had previously, pleaded guilty to four charges of illegal possession of arms and ammunition and cultivating prohibited cannabis (marijuana), for which he was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment and fined $75,000 on each conviction.
The charges against the trio said on November 4, 2009, at Brickdam Police Station, they discharged loaded firearms at Police Constable Carl Marks, Police Constable Rajendra Singh, Detective Constable Damintra Indarpaul, and at Clayton Westford, with intent to kill or cause grievous bodily harm to all of them.
On the same day, they are accused of setting fire to the Supreme Court, a public building.
