… says Taxi Service Association President
PRESIDENT of the Guyana Taxi Service Association, and owner of Patrick’s Taxi Service, Mr. Patrick Brassington, said yesterday that his association has nothing to do with minibus operators and their call for increased fares. Mr. Brassington emphasized that the association that he represents has always worked closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce, and will continue to do so; and he maintained that at this time there has not been any increase in taxi fares.
Earlier this week, the operators of several services around the city shared their views on the fare increase imposed by the bus operators and the implications of this posed for their businesses.
The Guyana Chronicle spoke subsequently to an employee at Patrick’s Taxi Service who expressed concern over the rising fuel price and the impact this would have on the fare structure at that service.
In response to this, Mr. Brassington underlined that the view expressed by the employee during that interview did not represent the view of his Taxi Service.
He explained, “Patrick’s Taxi Service does not agree with the statement made by that employee and it does not represent the view of the service.”
