Schoolgirl still missing after promising to call home

RELATIVES of schoolgirl Dawn Stanton, who has been reported missing, are pleading with her to return home.
After she disappeared following attendance at classes last Saturday, they said she made contact with them by telephone and promised she was returning on Wednesday but failed to show.
They said the 16-year-old told them she was in Berbice and, before ending the conversation, said she would explain her actions when she gets back.
Since then, they received a call, on Wednesday, informing that the teen was seen on Carmichael Street, in Georgetown, but she was not located.
Stanton, of Sand Road, Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, was last seen leaving the private school where she attends lessons about 11:00 hrs on Saturday.
A relative said, when Stanton made contact on a cell phone with a blocked number, she said she would call again but has not.
The girl has been living with her grandparents and, because she was not encountering any difficulties at home, they are at a loss to understand why she left without informing them.
