KEITH Parker, of Stewartville, West Coast Demerara was convicted of drug trafficking yesterday and sentenced to four years imprisonment. In addition, Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin, who found him guilty at the Vreed-en-Hoop Court, ordered the prisoner to pay a fine of $30,000, as well.
Parker had pleaded not guilty but after hearing evidence from witnesses, the court held that he did have possession of 60 grammes cocaine for the purpose of trafficking on August 13, 2010.
Police said the narcotic was hidden in the bathroom at Parker’s home.
