Smith Memorial Men Guild gets new President

SMITH Memorial Congregational Church’s Men Guild has elected Mr. Lindon Wilburg as its new President.
His election, for a two-year term, was at a meeting that was not only a Guild statutory monthly but facilitated the installation of executives for the new term.
Wilburg gave an emotional address, thanking members for demonstrating their faith in him and promising to continue working towards the success of the organisation,
Mr. Floyd Scott was elected as Vice-President.

Outgoing President, Mr. Archibald Clifton was among those present when the Guild’s Patron, Pastor Oslen Small delivered the charge to the new Executive Body.
Others elected included Secretary, Mr. Winston Lynch; Treasurer, Mr. Charles Conway; Assistant Treasurer, Mr. Sydney Retemyer and Committee Members Mr. Albert Cort and Mr. Percival Boyce (Jnr).
Boyce, having served as the Guild’s first President, declined nomination to serve for a second term but pledged his overall support.
Mr. Joseph Downes acted as Returning Officer.
