FOUR men have been charged with break and enter and larceny at the dwelling house of Clavemont Donald, at Anna Catherina, between March 7 and 8.
Mohamad Shaheer, Anthony Amos, Abdul Azad and Nizam Mohamed appeared before Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin, at Vreed-en-Hoop court, also on West Coast Demerara, yesterday, in answer to the charge.
It is alleged that the quartet stole two ‘Plasma’ television sets, a microwave oven, an electric deep fry pot, a toaster, a rice cooker, two electrical fans, a food processor, two direct television transmitters, a coffee maker, a cooking gas cylinder and a 5,000 watts transformer, valued a total of $978,000.
Police Sergeant Sherwin Matthews, prosecuting, reported that the fans and the gas cylinder were recovered and the accused in the indictable case were ordered to post $200,000 bail each, pending the start of the preliminary inquiry (PI) on May 11.
