What Freddie thinks of Guyanese

THIS is what Freddie Kissoon thinks of Guyanese: “I could not believe human beings could be so stupid in 2006 that they voted the PPP back into power”. [KN News, Wednesday March 09, 2011] As a Guyanese, I take this insult very personally. We all know that Freddie Kissoon is prone to making silly statements and “make trouble”, but to go to the extent to call the majority of people “stupid” is a totally different matter.

What Freddie cannot comprehend is that the electoral process in a democratic nation is designed to elect a government of the “people’s choice”. Perhaps Freddie would have had a greater respect for the Guyanese people if the Burnham/Granger style election was practised today.

His arrogance is beyond my comprehension. As I wrote before (not published), Freddie needs to be removed from any position in which he can influence our children and youth. What qualification or authority does he have to be able to describe people as “stupid” because they elected this government of their free choice?

I call upon the publisher of KN and Freddie Kissoon to apologise to the intelligent people of Guyana for his disrespectful and bigoted remark.
Albert Einstein once said: “Few is the number who think with their own minds and feel with their own hearts”.
