POLICE have detained two men as they pursue investigations into a robbery, in Prashad Nagar, on Tuesday night.
The crime was committed about 21:45 hrs on taxi driver David Christopher Megwah, 27, of Hadfield Street. He was beaten and robbed by a duo who attacked him armed with a knife and a bottle.
Police said the victim was hired by the perpetrators who hit him about his head and took away $5,680, with which they escaped.
Megwah reported the incident to ranks of a police patrol and the suspects were apprehended on Sheriff Street, also in Georgetown, where the stolen cash and the knife were found in their possession.
Charges are expected to be laid shortly, the police said.
