Regional Administration reports…
THE Regional Administration in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) has announced that several businesses have indicated an interest to participate in the Mashramani Float Parade on the Essequibo Coast. It said one such business, ‘Cinderella Designers’, of Bush Lot, will be putting out a large float under the theme ‘Essequibo in all her Splendour and Beauty’.
The group designer, Ms. Abiola Garraway said she is aiming to put 300 revellers on the road on a float depicting the country’s three main religions and the majestic Kaieteur Falls.
She told the Guyana Chronicle she wants to promote Essequibo because the county has a lot to offer.
Garraway, who took part in the Guyana Fashion Week activities in Georgetown, said she will be designing individual costumes at a cost of $3,000 but persons who wish to be involved in the revelry can wear an outfit of their own choice.
She said 30 persons have already accepted her invitation but she is appealing to the business community to support her large float.
Meanwhile, the Regional Administration is busy making preparations to host the grand Mash Day celebrations at Anna Regina Community Centre ground
The Regional Department of Education kicked off the programme last month with its children competitions.
