Madewini Creek death…
THE Police said, yesterday, that the results of the post mortem examination on the body of Vishal Ram, 17, of Lot 1002 Diamond New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, has been withheld pending further investigations. The autopsy was done on Wednesday but there have been conflicting reports of how the teenager met his death and a section of the print media carried a report, on Thursday, that he had succumbed to stab wounds.
His relatives had previously told the Guyana Chronicle that the deceased will be cremated tomorrow at the Ruimzeight Crematorium, West Coast Demerara.
Ram was breathing when fished out of Madewini Creek, along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, where there was a family outing last Sunday. But he started to vomit and, by the time he reached a hospital, he died, his mother, India Ram said.
She has appealed to persons, who may know of the tragic circumstances leading to his demise, to come forward with information so justice could be served.
The construction worker, who would have celebrated his 18th birthday next month, is also survived by his father, Muneshwar Ram, a sister and relatives. (Michel Outridge)
