Wednesday night shooter of women still being hunted

THE man accused of having shot and wounded his wife, Sharon Taylor, 30 and her sister, Michelle Richards, 19, outside a Quamina Street, Georgetown guest house on Wednesday night, had been detained at Leonora Police Station, West Coast Demerara, last month, following a report of threatening behaviour. He was also charged with an offence after his spouse reported that he had threatened her during a quarrel between them but, up to press time, he was still being hunted by Police.
The Wednesday night shooting took place about 22:00 hrs as the sisters were walking in the company of another man. A vehicle drove up to them and gunshots were fired.
Both victims were admitted patients at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) while the shooter escaped unharmed, after returning to the scene and conveying the injured women to get medical attention.
Taylor, who is having domestic problems with her husband, is stable and conscious in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) suffering injuries to the chest and groin.
