– as police investigate alleged  carnal knowledge case involving school girl
A 28 year old taxi driver is in police custody at the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station pending investigation into a carnal knowledge case. According to a police source, on January 26, at around midday, police received information that a 13-year-old school girl and the alleged perpetrator were seen together at a house at Harlem, West Coast Demerara.
Upon police arrival, the girl was found fully dressed in her uniform and was sitting in the car, while the alleged perpetrator was in the house.
When the taxi driver was caught, he allegedly told police that he went into the house to look for something, and the girl denied having sexual intercourse with him.
The alleged perpetrator was arrested and the matter is currently being investigated. (Juliet Bachu)
