Perturbed over NIS’s level of competence

I am very perturbed over NIS’s level of competence. I can prove that the entity is still miles away of the rest in terms of medical benefits, but this is not exemption to perform just better. Editor, I wish to apprise you of a medical benefit owed to me since August 10, 2010, following a sickness. On August 10, 2010, I suffered a sudden sickness while at home and had to charter an aircraft from Kayman Sankar airstrip, Hampton Court, Essequibo Coast to Ogle.
I was admitted to Dr Balwant Singh hospital after being diagnosed with a serious ailment after which I was discharged on August 12, 2010.
From the date of discharge to now, I have been in constant battle to acquire my medical benefits of $85,000.00 which was submitted to the local office at Anna Regina the following week after my discharge. Specifically, I was taken through a lengthy and frustrating period with the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) nurse and the medical director to secure my medical benefit.
What is significant and frustrating is that I am confined to a wheelchair without any means of income to purchase my medications.
First and foremost, I think that the employees at NIS should go through some appropriate training on how to talk to people and deal with our claims in a timely manner. It is my fervent hope that Dr Roger Luncheon, who is much respected, would note some of my concerns and realise that not all is rosy as it seems to Miss Lewis Baxter (PRO) at the NIS.
