Woman fined for taking phone into prison

ANASTASIA Norville (no address given) was yesterday fined $25,000, with the alternative of three months imprisonment on conviction for unlawful possession. Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry convicted her of the offence, to which she pleaded guilty.
Norville admitted that on January 24, she took a cellular phone, which is prohibited, into the Camp Street, Georgetown Prison, without lawful authority,
