CARL Hilliman, 22, of Lot 124 Regent Road, Bourda, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday on a robbery with violence charge. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said that on January 19, he robbed Treavon Douglas of a cellular phone valued $75,000, and $30,000 cash, making use of personal violence against the victim at the time.
The defendant told the Court he was formerly employed at Office of the President as an office assistant, and he did not rob the virtual complainant but they had a fight.
However, Police Sergeant, Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said Douglas was going to buy bread when the defendant attacked him.
Bail for Hilliman was set at $60,000 until tomorrow.
