Probation report ordered
JUSTICE Winston Patterson yesterday ordered a Probation report on Taijpaul Nahkishore called ‘Fat boy’ for the unlawful killing of his brother Seepaul Nankishore called ‘Regan’ on May 7, 2008. The accused, prosecuted by Miss Konyo Sandiford from the DPP Chambers for murder, offered a plea of not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter.
Because of the circumstances of the case, the DPP Chambers and the Court accepted the plea and requested a probation report which was applied for by defence counsel, Ms. Clarissa Rhiel.
Sentence was postponed to Thursday 10th February following the presentation of the Probation report and plea in mitigation to the Court.
It is said that the two brothers were gambling on the morning of May 7th, 2008, when the younger brother who lost the game and $60, snatched the money from his older brother and cuffed him in the process.
