THE Chronicle editorials are welcome on ‘A Home for Everyone’ and the ‘Stabroek Market problems’. Unfortunately, the editor may have been either too kind or overly cautious by simply saying that officials need to act earlier before allowing things to get out of hand. The situation required a stronger Editorial response to what appears to be a serious breakdown in addressing these situations a lot more aggressively. Many Guyanese retired and vacation home seekers would like to own a home in Guyana if the minimum US standards for facilities and infrastructure, such as utilities, medical, shopping etc. can be provided in a secured way. Gated communities are most people’s choice for these reasons. People are willing to pay handsomely for these factors, while adding to our economy. This should be welcome by all if open to all.
