Dissatisfied patron sets guest house afire

Court hears…
A DISSATISFIED patron set a guest house afire when he was refused a refund, a Court heard yesterday.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, related the incident when Andre Headley, of Lot 50 Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, on an indictable charge of arson.
The accused is charged with having, on December 23, set fire to the building, owned by Orin John, with intent to cause injury.
The Prosecutor, who successfully objected to bail for Headley, said the latter rented a room in the place and paid $9,000 but requested his money back because there was no running water in the bathroom.
The accused had a heated argument with the cashier who denied his request and, in anger, went back to the rented room and started a blaze.
Headley was remanded to prison until January 3.
