… $500 000 for winners tonight
DEFENDING champions Bartica Beacons will be aiming to make it two in a row when the Bartica Football Association’s (BFA) Christmas festival climaxes tonight at the Community’s ground.
Their opponents for tonight’s championship game will be Rising Stars, who will have to rise to the occasion if they hope to upstage the champions.
On their way to the finals, Beacons disposed of Netballers 7-1 and in last Thursday’s semi-finals they brushed aside Wolves United 3-1, while the Stars hammered Potaro Strikers 7-1 in their semi-final match-up, after gaining a walkover from Lazio.
Tonight’s final is set to kick off at 19:00 h and the winners will be $500 000 richer and the runners-up $200 000. The two losing semi-finalists will cash in on $50 000 each. Banks DIH has contributed the first prize cash incentive.
