IT bothers me to know how some foolish people are so lucky to have time to spread propaganda about careerists around and stir up new gossip about a girl in their village and do not watch their own characters or backgrounds where they came from and love to judge others. That’s why Bob Marley sang a song in his youthful day called “Judge Not.” That is the reason why in one of the Biblical stories Judgment of people ended because there used to be the stoning to death of Prostitutes before Christ walked on this Earth. Our Lord, Jesus Christ was passing through a village one day when the ritual was being conducted with prostitutes in a village and their existence was no longer wanted around them because of scorn, they would stone them to death by taking out a piece of paper with a name written on it from a pouch, meaning who would go first! Well on this particular day when our heavenly Father was about to witness a woman alone who people despised from this village heard about the ritual and were putting her forward, she was surrounded by a grand circle of men and women who all picked up a stone each from a pile set nearby and were ready to hit her with them one by one until she would drop dead. But our gracious God saved her by breaking the silence and ending an expectant tragedy and resolving an ongoing issue that others thought would maybe never end. “WAIT! Who has never sinned in their life keep holding your stones,” exclaimed Jesus Christ and one by one each person surrounding the woman dropped their stones. Jesus went to the woman and asked her to change her way of life. She agreed and repented and went her way leading a better life.
My point and moral is that people should not judge others, especially, those who have a lot of idle time, as they spread propaganda about myself, being a career woman, and other young girls and women around the neighboring villages which should be put to an end. These troublemakers are so lucky to have idle time, instead they sit down and talk about who “deh” with whom, whereas considerate and patriotic people like myself worry about saving the country from any kind of natural disaster and addressing and resolving ongoing issues in areas that need to be fixed or developed.
Even some of our great leading politicians get propaganda formed against them to lower their respect and prestige in society which should come to a halt. Our minds should be focused on what these politicians are truly doing for the country and not who got married to or divorced from or who never got married or had a child.
Why I am highlighting this ongoing matter of interest is mostly because I am a major victim of propaganda and gossip in my neighborhood villages.
I can’t understand why family and friends are so skeptical about themselves that they don’t think before they speak or use actions or retaliations against another human. The old adage goes that still lives on is that, “You don’t see your own faults but you talk about others.” When you scandalise young women you are making it difficult for them to find a suitor later on in life, which is what most devious people love to do.
My mother says that everyone who has a daughter shouldn’t curse other parents’ ones. I am a young woman, UG student, political activist, advocate, writer, careerist and an assistant with my parent’s small business, and many other women at tender twenty-two are unlike me and wouldn’t allow people to make untrue remarks about me so society will disrespect me. It’s like people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
I am calling on Minister Priya Manickchand to address this major situation of: “Men wanting to Brand Women.” When you are a successful careerist I notice that people become like crabs in a barrel, ready to pull you down when you are trying to reach the top. Climbing the mountain peak of success is a difficult task by facing criticism, having strong determination and meeting other battles and trials along the way such as personal issues, school problems, work and meetings etc.
It is surprising to know that family members and friends are the ones that start the flames in your life by adding their own version of stories to yours.
I would recommend anyone who is facing this current situation that I am having to continue to have faith in God and be strong and if you have to be someone professional one day that could change society, go ahead and get your work done and don’t allow anyone along your path in life to discourage you with scandals. If I have to I will have to take this matter to higher authority that is when I have the time to do so. For now I can advise everyone that they should mind their own business, try not to get in anyone’s way and be as patriotic as you can towards Guyana and the society that you may dwell in. Only God judges me!
Stop the propaganda, end the gossip
