PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad CMC – GUYANA’S Walter Moore scored a last-minute goal to cap Caledonia AIA’s 5-0 demolition of Police in the Trinidad and Tobago Pro League here Tuesday night. Playing at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Moore put the icing on a top performance that saw Caledonia improve to 21 points from 12 matches, 10 behind leaders Defence Force.
Midfielder Ryan Stewart scored in the 45th and 78th minute after T&T Under-23 midfielder, Jean-Luc Rochford opened the scoring in the 16th minute and Keyon Edwards added the other goal in the 59th minute.
At the Larry Gomes Stadium, Defence Force tasted their first defeat of the season with a 2-1 loss to North East Stars.
Following their nil-all draw with W Connection last week Tuesday, the soldiers’ quest for their first league title in 11 years, took another blow after the loss to Stars. They fell behind in the 39th minute through midfielder Marc Leslie 39th but drew level in the 66th minute when Balodemu Julius struck.
National striker Anthony Wolfe, who netted a hat-trick in a 6-3 win over Police in the previous round, then got the decisive item for Stars two minutes later. The win was their third in a row and it improved the Stars to 19 points, the same as W Connection while Defence Force remained on 31 points from 12 matches.
