ONCE again, the inclement weather that has been hampering the start and culmination of many sporting activities here in Guyana, has struck again, this time the Dr. Noel Blackman birth anniversary seven a side Inter-ward/street/village knockout tournament falling prey to Mother Nature. This tournament was set to kick off today at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground with eight matches, but would do so next Thursday weather permitting at the same venue.
Despite the postponement, the first round fixtures which would have seen Lodge taking on Lima Dam, Laing Avenue opposing Festival city, Campbellville and Cummings Street clashing, Grove versus Charlotte Street, Kitty taking on Meadow Brook, Sophia and North East La Penitence, Benn Street and Tucville and West Estate and Agricola, remain the same.
