GUYANA’S top Junior Badminton Players received their trophies on Friday evening at the Queen’s College Badminton Court when the National Sports Commission (NSC) held its presentation ceremony for the winners of the Annual Under-17 & U-19 Junior Tournaments which were played during last month.
The presentations were made by Director of Sport Neil Kumar and Dean Jackson, after a brief talk by the president of the Guyana Badminton Association, Gokaran Ramdhani.
The respective winners in the various categories who received trophies were:
UNDER-17
Boys’ Singles Champion – Narayan Ramdhani, 2nd place Avinash Odit, 3rd place Christopher Shewjattan
Girls’ Singles Champion – Greer Jackson, 2nd place Priyanna Ramdhani, 3rd place Angelica Holder
Boys’ Doubles Champions – Narayan Ramdhani & Andrew Peroune, 2nd place Christopher Persaud & Christopher Shewjattan
Girls’ Doubles Champions – Priyanna Ramdhani & Angelica Holder, 2nd place Greer Jackson & Varsha Boodram
Mixed Doubles Champions – Narayan Ramdhani & Priyanna Ramdhani, 2nd place Avinash Odit & Anuradha Odit
UNDER-19
Boys’ Singles Champions – Avian Rodrigues, 2nd place Nicholas Ali, 3rd place Narayan Ramdhani
