Outgoing CARICOM Secretary General Edwin Carrington has been bestowed with a knighthood by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. He was officially knighted today by that country’s Governor General Dame Louise Lake-Tack. Sir Edwin received the Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of the Nation.
Sir Edwin, 72, of Trinidad and Tobago, will officially step down by the end of this year after 18 years.
His replacement is yet to be named.
