FRANK Slowe, of Lot 28 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown, has been charged with burglary at a Government Ministry. Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, the security guard pleaded not guilty to break and enter and larceny.
The charge said, on October 24, he broke into the Administrative Building of the Ministry of Public Works and stole two stabilizers valued $8,500 and a clock worth $2,959.
Slowe told the Court that he was among 10 security guards on duty at the time but only he was arrested.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said another security guard saw a bag in the guard hut and, after the defendant claimed it, a search yielded the things mentioned in the charge.
Slowe was put on $50,000 bail and is to make his next appearance on November 8.
