IT was most heartening on Friday to learn that the hard work of His Excellency Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo has finally started to pay off; the first payment from Norway to the Fund of approximately US$30 million is now being processed.
Many doubted the vision of our President but he persisted in his effort to ensure Guyana’s upward thrust. What his work represents is Guyana going “green.” This development will simultaneously seek to mitigate the effects of climate change while providing job opportunities and increase productivity all across Guyana.
Many will ask “where will the money go?”  The use of the funds will be closely monitored and Guyana will have to be assessed to further access the remaining amounts. Guyana has every right to be proud as a nation and for the leadership we have.
