A CARICOM Competition Commission (CCC) project has been selected as a best practice by the Brussels, Belgium-based TradeCom Facility.
Chairman of the CARICOM Competition Commission, Dr. Kusha Haraksingh will lead a two-member delegation which will make a presentation at the TradeCom Best Practice workshop scheduled for 12 October, 2010 in Brussels.
The presentation will highlight the CCC’s project entitled “Assignment of Experts on Competition Policy for Detailed Discussions and Briefings with Judges of the Caribbean Court of Justice and for Training of Commissioners of the CARICOM Competition Commission.”
The workshop will facilitate best practice presentations from various organisations within the African Caribbean Pacific (ACP) Group that have been beneficiaries of the TradeCom Facility projects.
A statement from the Caricom Secretariat in Georgetown said the TradeCom Facility is funded by the European Development Fund and focuses on developing capacity for trade among ACP regions and countries.
The Suriname-based CCC which was established to help enforce the CARICOM Rules of Competition and regulate competition in the CSME was inaugurated in January 2008.
