DCC favoured to take GCA/Digicel T20 title today

HOSTS Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) are heavily favoured to take the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)-organised, Digicel-sponsored first division Twenty20 title when they face Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) in the final today from 13:30 h.
The home team will be looking to national T20 players skipper Christopher Barnwell, Travis Dowlin and Derwin Christian, along with left-arm orthodox spinner Totaram Bishun and the pugnacious opening pair of Trevon Griffith and Andrew Lyght Jr to see them home.
On the other side, GNIC’s lineup includes former Guyana and West Indies off-spinner Clyde Butts, his son Collis, discarded national fast bowler Rayon Griffith and the ever-improving Andrew Merrell who rocked the Georgetown Cricket Club’s top order in their semifinal clash, removing among others national skipper Ramnaresh Sarwan.
The men in charge of this clash which will be preceded by the GCC/Everest third place playoff which bowls off at 09:30 h are Nigel Duguid and Shannon Crawford, with Mario Nichols as the standby official.
