‘FLIGHT of Hope’ charitable organisation received a donation of $40,000 on Tuesday, from Mr. Ramzan Roshan Alli, at Ogle Airport, East Coast Demerara. Accepting the gift, Flight of Hope Director, Captain Orlando Charles welcomed the gesture and stated: “I am extremely grateful for the timely donation. There have not been many contributions since the launch of the programme when we received $300,000.”
Charles pointed out that it is through such gifts that his organisation is able to reach persons across Guyana.
“No amount of support would be enough as we have realised that the need for assistance, especially in remote parts of the country, is great,” he stated.
Alli donated the money after learning about the humanitarian efforts being spearheaded by Charles and his partner, Captain Praimnauth Mohanlall.
Charles also expressed his gratitude to Mohanlall for his continued support since the inception.
“He has been extremely instrumental to the success of the venture and I would like to thank him, again,” Charles said of Mohanlall.
Charles disclosed that they recently went to Aishalton, where they delivered trophies, provided by Trophy Stall, to the winners of Rupununi Games.
Flight of Hope Hinterland Outreach Ministries was inaugurated about a year ago and targets deserving communities for the provision of materials and investing in the education of children through scholarships, teaching young people assertiveness skills and arranging programmes that would impact the values, morality and lifestyles of the beneficiaries.
“In fact, the letters that spell hope in the name of organisation mean helping other people excel,” Charles disclosed.
Persons desirous of donating to Flight of Hope are encouraged to telephone number 231-0144.
