Developmental works in Leguan processing satisfactorily

– Regional Chairman
REGION Three (Essequibo Island/ West Demerara) Chairman Julius Faerber has expressed satisfaction at the completion of some projects and current works in progress on the island of Leguan, Essequibo River.
Accompanying the Chairman on a tour of the island were Superintendent of Works Paramdeo Persaud, and other officials from the Leguan sub-regional Office.
Nothing than the weather posed a threat earlier on, Faerber said that he is satisfied with the current situation and optimistic that the remaining works would be completed by September 15.
According to Faerber, nearly $12M would be spent on developmental works on the island, which include the extension of the Leguan Secondary School, repairs to the Success and La Bagatelle Primary Schools, rehabilitation of the incinerator at Lousiana Health Post and the fence and gate of the Leguan Cottage Hospital.
In addition, Faerber noted that the construction of a tarmac at the sub-office was long overdue since whenever it rains employees and the general public have to walk through slush.
Meanwhile, he urged officers to continuously monitor the remaining works so that the deadline could be met.
