Hikers’ junior summer camp commences today

THE annual junior summer hockey camp which is being hosted by the Hikers Hockey Club will commence today and run until Saturday at the Saint Stanislaus College forum from 09:00h to 16:00h daily. The camp is open to all aspiring junior hockey players and will see England based players Marvin Dannett, Janela Munroe and Chantelle Fernandes teaming up with local coaches to put the juniors through their paces, as the club works towards increasing the quality and quantity of local junior players.
The players will be classified in three different groups, namely beginners, intermediate and advanced in order to make the sessions as efficient as possible, with each group being coached separately.
Candidates will be exposed to skills ranging from the very basic to the latest in advanced skills used at the highest level of the game.
On the last day of the camp, they will be put aside for a mini tournament to allow the candidates the opportunity to test their skills against players of similar skill levels and persons desirous of being a part of the camp can report to the venue this morning at 09:00h sharp.
