IT was a pleasure reading your editorial on noise nuisance and its effects on people.
In order for this plague to come to an end, those in authority must muster the guts to prosecute those who flaunt the laws on noise.
While I was in Guyana for a most wonderful three weeks, despite heavy rain and our home being flooded the noise emanating from cars makes one go absolutely crazy and out of their minds.
I have noticed this plague quieting down in mini buses but the car drivers are the real culprits now.
Imagine one would be sound asleep at about 1 to 1:30 and 2 o’ clockin the wee hours of the morning only to be jumping out of your bed when one of these noise monsters passes and is gone in the blink of an eye. Most people could never go back to sleep after such disturbance.
Those that do this just do not care for others.
That is why those in authority must go after them with a vengeance in order to stop this plague.
The rains, floods and the garbage pile up from the garbage strike didn’t bother me like how these moving noise monsters bothered me.
Those who are in authority are urged to ensure this plague comes to an end once and for all for the sake of the health of others.
On another note, many people including myself on that Caribbean Airlines flight vowed never to come back to Guyana after the treatment that Airline dished out to Guyanese.
Thanks to all my family and friends for having me and giving me a great time in Guyana during my stay there.
The noise plague continued almost every night while I was here and I could no longer take this.
I tell you, the boom is loud, real loud where window on houses rattled.
How can fellow Guyanese be so selfish and inconsiderate to others who do not disturb them?
The noise plague must be stamped out
