MAGISTRATE Hazel Octave-Hamilton Monday released Wendell Humphrey on bail when he appeared in court charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and damage to property.
Humphrey, 32, of 199 Charlotte Street, Bourda, pleaded not guilty to all the charges, one of which said, on August 14, at Third and Albert Streets, Alberttown, he unlawfully assaulted Police Corporal Romel Nurse, a peace officer acting in the execution of his duties.
The second and third charges said on the same day, he resisted arrest by Nurse and damaged the officer’s watch valued $1,500.
The Magistrate released Humphrey on $50,000 bail. The matter will be called again on September 13.
