Improved services at Immigration Office

. . .  about 1000 prepared passports uncollected
The Guyana Police Force is advising that the time for the acceptance of applications and retrieval of passports at the Central Immigration and Passport Office, Camp Street, is from 07:00h to 18:00h, on any working day.
Persons applying for a passport will be accepted, once they are presented during the normal working hours at the Immigration Office, a police press release stated.

The Department has been restructured to ensure that all applications for passports are accepted on the same day and therefore there is no need for persons to assemble at the Immigration Office as early as 04:00h, as is currently done, the release noted.
“The Immigration Department is asking persons to desist from this practice as it is causing large unnecessary build-ups outside of the Immigration Office,” the release stated.
The Guyana Police Force stated that there are 997 prepared, but uncollected, new machine readable passports at the Central and Immigration Passport Office for the period July 17, 2007 to August 13, 2010 and is calling on members of the public to uplift their passports.   (GINA)
