The occasion was the premiere showing, locally, at Guyana International Conference Centre, Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.

Haralsingh said GTA supports Charles’ latest documentary, which captures 800 still photographs of this country, depicting what it has to offer in terms of tourism, its peoples, beauty and lifestyle.
The GTA Director said the breathtaking pictures show nostalgic Guyana and showcases the beauty of nature.

Haralsingh also commended Mr. Charles for the splendid job done, once again, stating that the film is the perfect gift for visitors, when promoting Guyana to the rest of the world.

Charles said the production took him two and a half years and it highlights the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS).
He said it was first shown in Toronto, Canada, last June 19 and the original copy is now available for sale.

Charles said, he, like small business persons, is awaiting the promulgation of copyright legislation because other people are pirating copies of his DVDs and retailing them at the price of three for $1,000.

He said, so far, he has taken four persons to Court, for plagiarism.

Charles said he employs between 25 and 30 persons to produce the DVD, which was made in the United States but everything in it is Guyanese.

A helicopter pilot for 25 years, he told the gathering that persons can also visit his website at wildguyana.com and his photographic library has 100,000 pictures of Guyana.

The one hour 15 minutes show depicts the picturesque parts of Guyana, including its vast and unspoiled rainforest, flora, fauna, animals, birds and peoples.

Copies of the newest DVD are being sold by the GTA, at City Mall and by tour operators countrywide for $2,000 each.

In it are aspects of a magnificent country that has LCDS footprint and is embarking on a path towards developing the raw potential of a carbon sink, where the people and culture co-exist in harmony with nature.

It captures the quintessence of the 40 million hectares of intact rainforest, as the issue of climate change becomes focal to continued existence on planet Earth and the way daily lives relate to and impact on conservation and sustainable development of the rainforest, embracing the LCDS Guyana is implementing.
