Man stabbed to death during Pomeroon wedding celebration

A wedding celebration turned tragic last evening in the Friendship Canal, Lower Pomeroon when around 23:00h Mr. Victor Williams was discovered with multiple stab wounds about his face, abdomen and legs by his eldest son Sheldon Williams.
Speaking with Guyana Chronicle earlier today wife of the deceased Ms. Ivy Williams said that she got a message from her son- in- law Dexter Benjamin that her husband was involved in an argument with one of the suspects, Trevor Abrams.
The woman in tears further revealed that she quickly informed her children at the wedding celebrations about the incident and they left in search of their father. The shocking discovery was made a few minutes later by the man eldest son in a trench.
The son Sheldon said that he saw Abrams and two other persons Frankie (only name given) and his wife fleeing the scene and his father in his dying breath confirmed that it was the trio who had committed the act.
Sheldon said he quickly raised an alarm and relatives and friends quickly rushed the man to the Oscar Joseph District Hospital, Charity where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The wife in a low tone of voice said she was unsure about the motive for the stabbing which led to the death of her husband but Abrams and Williams had some problems which were unresolved a few years ago.
The matter was also reported to the charity police station where prompt action from the police led to the arrest of the trio.
The man who was a former employee of the Drainage and Irrigation in maintaining the Friendship Canal was a farmer at the time of his death and has left to mourn his Wife 53 years old Ivy Williams and five children along with relatives and friends.
The woman also revealed that a large crowd gathered on the scene as news of the incident quickly circulated around the community and the wedding house.
The Police at Charity are investigating the matter, and all three of the suspects are in police custody assisting with investigations.
