THE Guyana Cycling Federation’s (GCF) fundraising day of activities is on tomorrow at the Malteenoes Sports Club, Thomas Lands, and will feature an eight-race cycle meet, a 12-team dominoes competition and a takeaway lunch. The events of the cycle meet which will take place at the National Park Circuit will be contested in five categories namely the Senior Category which will be a 10-lap race, the Junior Category comprising 6 laps, the Veterans Category of 3 laps and the Mountain Bike category which will also consist of 3 laps with a $12 000 first prize for the seniors and $5 000 for each of the other categories.
There will also be a BMX category that will feature four races over 800m, 1 000m, 1 lap and two laps, with $4 000 being the first prize for the open two-lap race.
The dominoes competition fetches a first prize of $30 000 and a trophy while the second-placed team will receive $20 000 and the third-placed team will receive $10 000. An entrance fee of $6 000 per team will be charged.
Tickets for the takeaway lunch on the other hand cost $800 with the lunch being served from 12:00 h. There will be a well-stocked bar of Ansa McAl products.
