THE HUB:

Social Growth, Economic Progress
Train beyond academic principles

The human capital is the single most important factor in the drive to advance industries competitive advantage: promote social growth and foster and sustain economic prosperity. This critical resource, “The Human Capital” must be exposed to training beyond academic principles. They must be exposed to Training that allow them at an individual and collective level to understand the essence of human potential to exceed greatness in
alignment with their passion and core purpose for living. This too must be aligned to corporate aspiration and a collective vision for social cohesion and economic prosperity. Your workforce exposure to the right training programmes or the absent there of, will determine the future of your industry and the growth of this nation.

Guyana can rise to greatness as one of the leading entrepreneurial nations. Guyana can rise above nations that feed, cloth and provide shelter for themselves. Guyana can rise as a nation with high ideals, inspired and propel by core groups of innovative corporate leaders that are serious about making a name for themselves, advancing social growth and propelling economic prosperity. But there must be the will by entrepreneurs and business leader to foster this kind of thinking among the key player within the sector. The urgency and speed in which this is realize will depend on the awareness of the realization of these ambitious possibilities, among innovative and proactive corporate leaders and their willingness to invest in training and the comprehensive development of the nations primary resources. Human capital is the most vital key to the competitiveness of industries, advancing social growth and propelling economic prosperity.

The will to succeed and the understanding of the importance of sustainable training of the human capital is one that can’t be over-emphasized. The quality of the human resources within industries is a genuine reflection of the industrial strengths and chance to succeed in a competitive world of commerce and trade. The strength of industries and their willingness to pay adequate compensation to their human capital will have an impact on both the social status co of people and how well the country will prosper as a nation.

Sam Walton is one of the great corporate icons that I often speak about in my business lectures. He had not only the will but the tenacity to do what is necessary to train and motivates the human capital within his businesses. After graduating from the University he went to work for JC Penny for just $2US Dollars per month. Within the first year of work he became pregnant with innovative corporate ideas which gave birth to “Wal-Mart”, the world’s largest supermarket, the rest is history.

*  Wal-Mart:              Is The World Leading Supermarket

* Wal-Mart:              In The Year 2000 Earned  USD$189 Billion & 2007 $216B

* Wal-Mart:              Has Over 4,700 Store outlets In The World

* Wal-Mart:              Employs Over 1.9 Million Persons

It is amusing to see and know how far the will to succeed in business can take us. Under the leadership of this corporate icon, he has been able to push the income earning ability of Wal-Mart beyond the GDP of many countries. His vision and exceptional thinking abilities were at work in shaping a legacy for his business, but he was not alone in the drive of realizing impeccable success as a business leader. He had and still has ten’s and hundred’s of well trained human resources to fuel his passion. And he leaves no stone unturned in attracting the best human capital and providing them with rounded exposure to relevant training programmes to insure that his competitive edge is maintained.  To be continued.
