GEORGETOWN Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) will be releasing the first copies of  Business Guyana 2010 Magazine tomorrow night at a grand Pegasus Hotel dinner.
It follows planning, by the Trade and Investment Committee that began in February 2009.
A release said, after careful consideration by that Committee and the observation about a need for a general magazine for this country, to provide information not only on individuals and businesses but also investment opportunities, tax rates, the various and emerging sectors, general information on Guyana itself and, basically, a one-stop publication for potential investors and business persons, it was decided that the publishing is necessary.
The release said GCCI is proud to pioneer the first edition, with hopes that prospective investors will get a greater understanding of the Guyanese economy, the opportunities available and guided in establishing a firm presence here.
The tomorrow night occasion will also focus on disseminating information, to the business community, on the National Competitiveness Strategy (NCS) and benefit from an informative presentation by the guest speaker, Director of the National Competitiveness Strategy Unit, Dr. Cecil Rajana.
The release said the guests will be updated on the progress of the strategy and its benefits to the business sector and afforded the opportunity to have questions answered.
The GCCI statement said the activity is one of several being undertaken this year as it strives to fulfill its mandate to its members and the business community at large.
