President Bharrat Jagdeo has extended congratulations to the new Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
The message was sent to Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar on Tuesday of last week.
Following is the text of the message: On behalf of the Government and people of Guyana, and on my own behalf, I take this opportunity to extend warm congratulations on your resounding victory at the polls yesterday in Trinidad and Tobago.
Please accept my best wishes as you prepare to assume the Office of the Prime Minister and to lead the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
I look forward to working with you at the bilateral level, to deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our countries and to strengthen the Caribbean Community as we strive to pursue the consolidation of regional integration.
Again, please accept my sincere congratulations.
