Husband alleges wife was in bed with friend

In domestic violence case…
THE male defendant in another domestic violence case was remanded to prison yesterday by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
Laurel Gill, 39, of Lot 372 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully wounding his reputed wife, Tandiso Sinclair, on May 25.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for the defendant, stating that he has a similar charge pending and requested a probation report.
Consequently, Gill will remain incarcerated through June 4.
Defence Counsel Vic Puran told the Court the virtual complainant attacked the defendant and he also suffered injuries.
The lawyer said Gill claimed he walked into his bedroom and found Sinclair on the bed with his friend, whom he had rescued and offered a place to stay.
The woman alleged that the defendant has been abusing her for 12 years and explained that, while it is true that her child is in the United States (U.S.), she did not sell it to anyone.
She said it has been eight months since she separated from Gill because of the abuse of which she complained. (Nathalene DeFreitas)
