Man wanted for May 17 Corentyne murder surrenders

COMPTON Greene alias ‘Red Eye’ for whom a wanted bulletin was issued on Sunday, turned himself in, to Police, on Monday last in company with a lawyer.

Police with investigations into the May 17 early morning murder that coincided with a robbery at Wellington Park, Corentyne, Berbice.
Several other suspects have since been questioned and released after Arjune Gobin was shot and killed while he and Rajindra Persaud were on their way to rescue the occupants of the home of Surendra Ganesh at Alness, Corentyne.
Persaud, Manager of Nand Persaud and Company, suffered a head injury from a bullet that grazed him, as bandits shot at the house in which were Vasantie Ganesh called Sandra and her children, all of whom were rescued unhurt.
Police said the gang, about six in number, used a sledge hammer to break into the building from where they stole only $5,500, prior to their hurried escape.
