De Nobrega faces more charges in motor vehicles scam

REMANDED fraud defendant Dianne De Nobrega faced two more charges on her return before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday.
The prisoner (no address given) pleaded not guilty to the offences.
Particulars of one charge said, between December 3, 2009 and January 19, 2010, with intent to defraud,
she obtained $1.4M from Babsie (only name stated), by falsely pretending that she was in a position to acquire and deliver one motor bus to him.
The other allegation against her is that, on December 9, 2009, with intent to defraud, she obtained $300,000 from Chaitram Tatechandre, by falsely pretending that she was in a position to acquire and deliver a mini-bus to him.
After Defence Counsel Gordon Gilhuys told the court that De Nobrega is currently on remand, facing similar charges, she was, again, refused bail and will remain incarcerated until May 28.
