MYL/Sunnatul Jamaat of Ontario to host capacity building seminars

– First Seminar slated for May 2 at Tuschen Old Road Masjid
THE Muslim Youth League of Guyana in association with the Sunnatul Masjid of Scarborough, Ontario Canada, and Human Concern International will be hosting a series of capacity building seminars across Guyana.
The seminars are intended to train persons, especially young people, to effectively and efficiently function in leadership positions in
their respective organizations. MYL, in a statement, said the seminars will be held in Berbice, Demerara and Essequibo and the first of which is scheduled for the Tuschen Old Road Masjid Complex on Sunday May 2, 2010  from 10.00 hrs.

President of MYL, Shabir Hussain will lead the list of facilitators of these seminars and will be joined in other sessions by MYL’s executive Dr. Wazir Mohamed, presently a Lecturer at the Binghampton University in Canada.
Sunnatul Masjid of Ontario, Canada is one of the more dynamic and efficient Muslim groups in Toronto and contributes to the welfare of Muslims and others in general in Guyana every year, through several of the local Muslim organizations.
Human Concern International (HCI) is a Canadian, Federally Registered, charitable organization existing “to help alleviate human suffering” by Investing in Humanity. Since 1980,  HCI has contributed over $40 million dollars towards facilitating Sustainable Development through long term development projects, and maintaining Human Dignity, the MYL said.
Jamaats and Organizations within the West Demerara/East Bank Essequibo Region are invited to send between two and five  representatives (both male and female) to the seminar.

MYL said the programme is geared towards educating Leaders about their responsibilities and obligations in the successful management of their organizations.

Non-Muslim organizations interested in sending representatives to these seminars are also welcomed.
