THE first test after completion of the Skeldon Factory was conducted during the period – March 30 2010 from 06:00 hours to 06:00 hours on April 2, 2010.
The test after completion was a scheduled requirement to demonstrate that the performance of the factory complies with the provisions of the contract and comprises three ‘’Factory performance tests’’

As per the contract, each test is of 72 hours duration, during which the plant has to be operated at its designed operating level.
The Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) is awaiting the Engineers’ Report which is binding on all parties. Upon receiving the report, work will be done on any serious defects identified in preparation for the second test.
It is expected that the remaining tests will be completed before the end of this month.
On site, the Chinese and GuySuCo officials continue to work in a well coordinated manner to achieve a mutually acceptable conclusion to the tests.
It is worthy to note that during the week in which the first test after completion was conducted, the Skeldon Factory achieved its weekly production target for which all categories of qualified workers will receive incentive pay. (GuySuCo release)
