There is one
less challenge this year to
Easter and to
kite flying – that of canals to cross
in the land of many waters
the canals now dry due
to El Nino effects
not afraid
our kites going for a dip
not afraid
in and out the trenches
chasing down our kites
when severed from us
not afraid
parents more at ease.
But having said that
I am inclined to
listen to
my kind heart to
let my kite up high and far
letting it go, go
to Haiti a sign
that help is on, on
the way.
A Kite for Haiti
