THE Upper Corentyne Chamber of Commerce (“UCCCI”) held its annual general meeting last Sunday at the Skeldon Estate, Senior Staff Club, Corriverton where a new executive body was elected.  The new appointees are as follows: President – Mr. Vishnu Doerga, Vice President – Mr. Krishnand Jaichand, Secretary – Ms. Sachie Ramnauth, Treasurer – Mr. Ganesh Gangadin, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Mr. Harry Dass Ghaness and 7 committee members. Minister of Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh delivered the keynote address at the event where he noted progress in Guyana was the result of aggregate effort of the private sector and the government.
This Chamber is a member of the Association of Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) and has declared: “Our main objective is to continue the promotion of development in trade and commerce within the region and to work with government, as well as other agencies in order to protect and strengthen the private sector.”
